Day 19 - 100 days, 100 courses (Monday, April 1, 2019)

After 19 straight days of golf, on 19 different courses, I think that I have become a little discerning.

TPC Scottsdale was one of the good ones. It had just the right amount of challenge with some long par 4’s and some holes where you really had to think.

One of the most important decisions that a player makes when approaching a golf course is what tees to play. I usually play the same tees as my playing partner. At TPC Scottsdale, my playing partner, Jim, decided to play the Players tees (6600 yards) and I decided to play the Resort tees (6300). I made the right call.

I later learned that there are guidelines that state what length course you should play based on how long your drive is. With my Rogue driver and a 240-yard drive I should be playing less than 6,400 yards (I think.) Turns out Jim ended up joining me after 13 frustrating holes.

I had a Jeckel and Hyde day with 4 pars and 4 7’s. Didn’t lose a ball until my drive on 18.

A group of us went in late June (Not smart) but we did and loved it. The weather cooperated for this time of year. The course was showing signs of the hot weather and the greens had been punched about 2 weeks before we arrived, but they rolled really well. Would play again but in a different season.

This is one of my favorite courses. Especially after the Phoenix Waste Mgt Tourney. It is in great shape and plays awesome. Great round of golf.

Played this course with my buddy as a twosome. Had a forecaddy assigned to us. Stands were up so the ambiance was great. Played well and had a good day going. Planned to play 36. My money was in my valuables pocket and was all there when I paid the girl for drinks on the 14th hole. Saw no one else the rest of the round. Noticed when we tipped the forecaddy after 18 that my money was out of order. Tipped him well but after further inspection in the clubhouse discovered that over $400 was missing. My friend checked his bag and his Rolex was gone. Course had us fill out and incident report. forecaddy was long gone. Made a police report and the course did nothing. Basically acted like they really didn't care. Caddy master had us fill out an incident report. Had to be the forecaddy take my money and either the forecaddy or another emoloyee that got my buddy's Rolex. Extremely disappointed how that matter was handled! If anyone plays there don't assume anything if safe. The PGA needs to address this issue.

It was a great experience. A little difficult. Greens had beenaerated 10 days ago, but were up to very good already. Play was slow (over 5 hours)-the only drawback.
